"Should have been told it was not a hotel. Difficult to check in. Did not receive how to get Key to room instructions before I arrived or instructions on how to check out. Room had a kitchen but no silverware/utensils. I got to the address and wandered around for a half an hour trying to figure out how to get into my room or even where my room was after flying for 14 hours. Luckily I found a cleaning person in a nearby room who helped me find a key to get into my room. I had no one I could...

"The hotel was fine. Friendly staff, room was good, breakfast was good. Outdoor area looks a little sad, with unkept entrance area (weeds). We Would, However, stay again. Very reasonably priced"

"Pension Barbara is a very cosy and clean pension right next to the paths leading up to The Brocken. The hostess was very sweet and attentive, and we had a good stay. Schierke as a town is a bit dated and quiet in the autumn, when we visited. Is was difficulty to find a place to just have a couple of drinks etc. The national park, Brocken and paths are all excellent for a short hiking-holiday. Great nature, chalenging paths (if you want it), nice restaurant on the summit."

"Das Hotel ist sehr schön gelegen. Wir waren für zwei Nächte dort. Das Hotel ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, vermutlich weil außer dem Besitzer und einer Reinigungskraft keiner im Hotel beschäftigt ist. Ich hoffe, dass sich das bald ändert, damit das Hotel nicht verfällt. Das Frühstück war in gut, wenn auch nicht sehr abwechslungsreich. Aber für einen kurzfristigen Aufenthalt in Ordnung."

"We stayed for 3 nights. Friendly staff in the restaurant. Everything worked and the apartments are spacious and so cozy. Very baby friendly! Although a bit of noise at night from other guests. Overall great stay with a nice location. "
