"My husband and I stayed here for a few days while visiting the Yorkshire Dales. The location is good for hiking right outside the door or an easy drive to other public footpaths and quaint English towns. There is a co-op grocery store just a few miles away where we were able to get supplies for our stay. The owners were kind enough to have cereal, milk, bread, and jam for our arrival. The lodge is awesome and communication with Margaret the host is incredible, she responded to every email I sent asking questions about the area and generously offered us an extra night as we had to cancel our other stay due to ill health. "Staff at reception very friendly and informative. We had a beautiful view of the lake from our lodge and although we didn't take part it looked like there was lots of activities going on (this didn't disturb us) Our lodge was bigger than expected and clean Lots of cutlery and plates to use and a filter coffee machine which was a lovely touch. The property is easy to get to and a good base for exploring the area. "
