"The hotel is lovely. We arrived to find we had been upgraded from the snug to a double bedroom with a view which was lovely. But disappointed not to have a bath even after an upgrade though. There are a lot of stairs to get anywhere, which was fine but worth noting. There is access to the lake outside via a path and some stairs which is lovely. The spa was great but as they are doing some work on it the outside bit wasn't available. This was fine as we were alerted to this, but there were also no changing facilities which we were not made aware of until we arrived. This meant walking through the hotel in the very snug dressing gown and slippers they provided, which was not ideal. It also meant that you could not access the spa after checking out as there was nowhere.to change, which wss a shame. All the staff were brilliant and the restaurant/bar/lounge area was great. We were not overly impressed with the food though. I didn't want much for tea and fancied the goats cheese balls off the small bites menu, but they had run out. So I ordered fish goujons and was presented with a pile of fish fingers - not very gourmet and definitely over priced! At breakfast we were asked for our cooked order before we had sat down and it arrived before we had chance to make the toast. We both had poached eggs which were a little undercooked, which was a shame. The continental selection was good though. Overall, a nice stay and we would return but would probably not have our tea there."

"A stunning facility in a rural property in belies the quality of this place. Check in was painless, efficient and helpful with clear directions to our room, once there WOW. Walked into a very large room with more space one would expect in a 5 star establishment. Big comfortable bed, really good bathroom and kitchen to boot. If we were going to stay in the area this would be the place to choose. Had dinner there and service was lovely, food plentiful and tasty and a pre dinner drink in the bar was greatly appreciated. Lawns and gardens immaculate and delightful to wonder around. Only concern are the narrow roads leading to the property but one must remember it is rural England so careful driving is advised."

"Brilliant Hotel clean and staff very helpful. Comfortable bed and a peaceful hotel. Food excellent but if I had a bone to pick I could have done with vegetables with my steak instead of salad which came as standard but all in all I’d definately go back again it was a memorable stay."

"If anyone is staying you should know there is only a costa coffee or McDonald's for food. Remember to bring some spare tea or coff but there is probably more if requested. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bath needs some attention around the plus as its very rusty. The view was exceptional across the lakes with lots of house martins nesting in the eves."

"Wonderful big room. So cozy. We enjoyed the comfortable bed and little balcony overlooking the garden. It was very quiet and the breakfast was delicious and the room had lovely views of the garden. Easily walkable to town. "
