Little Loon Farm

Our calendar is updated in real-time & our nightly rates are accurately displayed. Simply enter your desired dates and click 'Book Now!'

Little Loon Farm is a quiet, historic Georgian farmhouse located in the middle of Mid-Coast Maine. Built in 1820, every room in the 2000 square-foot house is bright and airy, oozing charm and
character; from its original pumpkin pine floors to the thoughtful updates to accommodate modern needs. The house is close to the coast and a short drive to everything mid-coast Maine has to offer. There are beaches, mountains, lighthouses, fishing, lakes, golf, hiking, ATV trails, kayaking, festivals, and an abundance of world-class restaurants. Not to mention skiing, tobogganing, and ice skating in the winter. Plus, you can put your kayak in and paddle out to sea with the St. George River just down the road.

The home is a beacon of comfort. All beds have luxury mattresses and four pillows. The bathroom on the main floor includes a large shower. The open kitchen is spacious and well appointed, including a lobster pot to have your own lobster festival! The generous kitchen table will accommodate eight with the accompanying chairs and the living room has plenty of seating to accommodate your whole family. A large laundry/mud room will give you more than enough room to park your muddy boots as well as all your adventure gear. There is a deck off the living room with a BBQ and chairs to enjoy the beautiful weather. The private half acre property is lined by blackberry bushes that you are welcome to pick in season. The long driveway accommodates four cars or your boat and trailer, and there’s easy access off routes Highways 1 and 90. Surrounded by trees Little Loon Farm is beautiful year-round and yes you can hear the loons in April, making it the perfect spot to base your Maine adventures.

Very disappointing
We rented this house for two nights for our daughter’s wedding last weekend. The service/cleaning fees are high but we thought it would be worth it. The house is nice, but it had clearly not been cleaned well - bathroom floor very dirty, old food under table not vacuumed, mold inside the coffee maker, etc. Vacasa was not willing to accommodate us with an earlier check-in so that we could get to the wedding rehearsal. The thermostat was set to 50 degrees with no directions on how to change it so we were very cold. Sorry, owners, but we would not recommend this property, or Vacasa. There was no offer to refund us anything on what we paid. We were embarrassed to have our family stay there.

Lovely Maine farmhouse
This is a nicely redone Maine farm house. We stayed for 3 nights while attending a family celebration. The house was very clean and kid friendly. Loved the kids room with attached bed room for a caretaker. We had some issues getting into the house but overall was a pleasant stay.

We had such a great time! The house was fantastic! Beds were comfy and kitchen had everything we needed to make a few breakfasts and dinners during our stay. Loved having coffee on the front porch every morning. Would definitely stay here again.

Great Central Location
Great location slightly inland for day trips to various parts of the coast. Beautiful old farm house with all the comforts of home. Worked great for a family of five including kids but could have easily accommodated more.

Character and Amenities
Central location. House has lots of character (original floors, creepy basement and secret door) but has all of the modern amenities. Listing states there is a fan in the main floor closet, but there was not. It was very hot in August. Gas grill, large yard, laundry were enjoyed.

Good location
We were traveling from Florida, where central air conditioning is a must. This property did not have that. It gets quite hot during summer days in Maine, so that would have been nice. Also, there were water pressure issues that came and went. The water also was not always clean coming from the shower and faucets. This was probably because of the house age and was not expected. Aside from these two issues, the house was great. We loved the blackberry bush and the home had a lot of old charm. We were exploring a lot, so the air conditioning wasn’t an issue until we went to bed. There are window fans that the owner supplies. This type of fan may be common in the area. We were not familiar with them but figured them out.
