"To be clear, I'm rating this hotel based on its price of $80/night. Room was fresh and had no strong cleaning solution smell like we often find when budget hoteling. Nothing fancy but a comfortable bed and clean shower. We definitely enjoyed Big Joe serving up drinks at the adjacent Cantina and regret we didn't arrive early enough for food (kitchen closed at 9pm) Dislike: there are some long term residents and whoever was in the room above us was up all night with thumping and dragging noises. When the A/C was running full it did drown out the noises but no setting kept the A/C running constantly. This is NOT a slight on the motel; you can have a noisy neighbor even in an expensive hotel."

"Great place to get away from it alll while still being near small towns with big charm. We saw the actual “come and get it cannon” in Gonzales and ate amazing BBQ in Lockhart. Great communication. Kids enjoyed the pool. Can’t wait to come back."
