A quiet, private suite overlooking a quaint lake



23 minutes from Victoria, 23 minutes from Sooke, Blue Sky Retreat is a quiet respite and rest for anyone wanting to get the best out of their stay at the southern end of Vancouver Island.

We have a suite available with a private living room, bedroom and private balcony with swing, gravity chairs, BBQ and your own private entrance, a kitchenette and private bathroom with shower. One additional guest can easily be accommodated on the memory foam full size sofa bed in the living room. We provide additional bedding (pillows, duvets, blankets) as required.

Accommodating your Dog

We are dog-friendly! Just include that you’re travelling with a dog in the Booking Summary under “Travellers” and check “I am travelling with pets”. You can view the pet fee under “Price Details” at the Book Now screen, under “Host Fees”.

There is a private area down at the suite for your pet to use. (Please pick up after it!) We ask guests to keep their dog in the suite area and not roam freely up in the garden.

The kitchenette includes our own freshly roasted coffee, assorted midnight snacks, teas, milk and bottled water in the fridge/freezer. A countertop convection oven/toaster and microwave are also included.

The location is conveniently close to amenities, Lookout Lake Park, Olympic View Golf course, hiking, Galloping Goose Trail, and about 8 minutes from the ocean with many off-leash beaches.

Our Dogs are very friendly!
We share our home with two Bernese Mountain Dogs, Sophie and Teesha. They are very friendly, people-loving dogs and will be very excited to greet new guests. Give them a couple of minutes to quieten down when we come out to meet you on arrival.

For prospective guests that may not be comfortable around dogs, please let us know and we can try to find a way to accommodate you by keeping our pups inside at certain times. However, if any member of your party is frightened of dogs, our place may not be suitable to book.

Lovely spot to stay! Ample room and lovely deck with a gorgeous view all to yourself. They have thoughtful extras, like cream for your coffee, water bottles, chips, noodle bowls, etc.

Beautiful place

Amazing place to stay between Sooke and Victoria. That lake beneath the property is spellbinding. The two dogs are so sweet and the apartment is roomy and filled with light. Would definitely stay again!

A great, cute, private spot to stay :)

The property was exactly as pictured, Doug’s hospitality was great, and getting to pet some dogs is always a welcomed bonus! There was also some water bottles in the fridge, some toiletries if you forgot anything, and even a snack drawer! Lovely stay.

Lovely neighbourhood, peaceful and relaxing. We really enjoyed our stay. Suite was comfortable, cozy, and clean. Spacious patio with amazing views and a porch swing. Very private, surrounded by trees. Spotted deer twice!Our host, Doug, was welcoming and gracious. Appreciated the freshly roasted coffee, snacks, thoughtful amenities, the charging cables by the bed, and the extra blanket in the living room. And two playful dogs in the garden to greet us.The location was easy to get to and also easy to drive into Victoria and surrounding areas.

We had a fantastic stay at this VRBO! The owner is incredibly helpful, super kind, and very accommodating. The place is clean and comfortable and also dog-friendly, which was a huge plus for us. Our dog had a blast playing with the owner's dogs. Highly recommend this place for anyone traveling with pets!

Cozy stay with great views

Doug was super responsive to all my messages and made me feel welcome. Sophie and Teesha were very glad to greet me. The inside of the space looks exactly as advertised, but the views are absolutely spectacular. I arrived to see the sun setting over the bay and the mountains. Everything was super comfy. I would definitely stay again.

An ideal location for our stay in Victoria. Close to abundant shopping in nearby Langford and fairly easy to get into Victoria or noth towards Sooke. Only negative (for us in Feb) was a lack of cable TV. We were unable to watch the national news or a hockey game. We'd be interested in staying again in the future.
