Well cooked breakfast. Historically interesting property with an amazing palm tree filled garden. Walking distance to town, park, Botanical Gardens and lovely beach cove with cafes. Friendly staff.

A very nice short stay at this lovely old Hotel. Our room (3) was maybe a little dated but that’s part of the charm of this place. Excellent breakfast cooked to order with plenty of choice. Limited parking but the road outside is unrestricted so it’s not a big deal. Ventnor is a pretty place (10 mins walk). Would recommend the Spyglass Inn for a relaxing drink overlooking the sea.

Really enjoyed our stay. All the staff were lovely friendly and extremely helpful. Lots of choice for breakfast. The garden is nicely kept with seating areas to enjoy.

We had an excellent stay at St Maur. The rooms are large spotlessly clean with fantastic ensuite facilties and a balcony with outstanding views. Parking is avaliable and hotel ideally situated for walking to the Botanic Gardens and Steephill Cove. The Owner and staff are amazing. Nothing is too much trouble. Such a friendly homely atmosphere.

We stayed in a very spacious, quiet and comfortable room with a large bathroom and a wraparound balcony overlooking the lovely gardens. Our host, David was very welcoming, attentive and helpful. The breakfasts were delicious and the service was friendly and efficient. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel.

Quiet relaxing stay on the Isle of Wight

What a find! A delightful family run hotel in a lovely little town on the Isle of Wight. St Maur is just perfect for a short or longer stay. It's spacious, comfortable, well-equipped and the owner and staff could not be more friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be coming back.

Friendly, family run hotel with beautiful gardens and premises. The spacious room and thoughtful furnishing created the perfect place for relaxing and taking in the lush view of palms, flowers, birds, Victorian rooftops and glimpses of the blue ocean with passing shops! David and his staff were excellent hosts. We were greeted by the owner upon arrival and were given an upgrade to a larger room. Very clean and well stocked room with all one would expect from the corporates. Breakfast was equally excellent with nothing being too much, absolutely recommended.

A beautiful property with lovely garden. Our room was very comfortable and spotless. Breakfast generous, including a variety of fresh fruit, staff friendly. We walked to the Botanical gardens easily and Ventnor is very close, walkable too. Parking on site and outside. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful guesthouse set in lovely tropical gardens. Very spacious bedroom with large comfortable bed, lovely decor, large 4 piece bathroom, a handy fridge, well-stocked hospitality tray, fantastic views. Spotlessly clean. Very peaceful. Excellent breakfast choices with cereal, fresh fruit, Greek yoghurt, cooked to order full English etc. Small honesty bar. David & his staff are friendly, knowledgeable & welcoming. Lovely 8 days spent fir my 60th Birthday - didn't want to leave!

Everything was excellent and we very much enjoyed our visit. Beautiful spot but about a 15 minute walk from Ventnor. Buses are very frequent in Ventnor but taxis are not so easy to get hold of so a car is possibly a bonus if your mobility is not great.
