"Beds are very comfortable. Clean, crisp bedding. Lots of towels. Bathtub fircsoaking tired old bones. Well stocked breakfast was included. Lots of variety and the room is full of windows, for a great view of surrounding area. Very close to the historucal fort and on a bus route."

"Very pleasant, clean and low stress place to stay while hiking the caminho. A little off the caminho trail but there is a well maintained hike and bike path from the center of Valença that will take you right to Alma Candida. Breakfast is very good too."

The town is in a lovely setting overlooking the Minho River and Tui, Spain beyond. Too many shops selling mostly linens catering to hoards of bus tours.
