"The people are good, the property not so much. If it is a quick layover and you don't need modern amenities this will do. This is not a good place for a digital nomad. WiFi is okay, power distribution is a problem. No power outlets near the desk unless I unplugged something else. I had to move the bed to get to the one wall outlet that served the bedside night table. The room door had only a lock and no safety latch. The bed was sleepable but little more. I think you get the idea..."

"My husband and I are both teachers and we were in need of some rest and relaxation after a hectic few weeks. This was our first stay at Elliot House and we had a great time! Check in instructions and parking info was sent early on and were very easy to follow. We had no issues finding the parking area, or getting into our room. The room itself was spacious, and clean. Once we settled in, we headed to the common area where there were breakfast items and a coffee/tea station. We grabbed hot water to make hot toddies, and some cookies. The bed was super soft and comfortable, the jetted tub was amazing, the fireplace made our room cozy, and the tv provided a bunch of options for our mini staycation. 24/7 breakfast access meant a Frosted Flakes midnight snack. Morning coffee on the patio was exactly what I pictured when I booked our stay. Thank you for a very pleasant stay. It was exactly what we hoped for!"

"We didn't get to spend a lot of time at the property. We arrived late our first night and spent the entire day in Sequoia the next day. Basically, we just slept there. We had the guest suite near the office. It was quiet and clean. It had a kitchenette to cook with. There is no nearby food options - so stop at a grocery store first. Our host was lovely, she shared some tips for being in the higher elevation and getting to/from the park. Would totally stay here again with the plan of enjoying the property more."

"Stony Creek Lodge is a rustic, older national park property, not a resort, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Check-in at the market counter was quick, and electronic key cards provided access to our room and the exterior entrance. Our clean, tidy room had a queen bed, a twin bed, a large dresser, bedside tables, plenty of lighting, and a ceiling fan. The bathroom was simple, with good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Most rooms are upstairs, so keep that in mind when booking. The included breakfast was generous: eggs, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, rotating meats and potatoes, plus breads, pastries, cereal, fruit, yogurt, juice, and coffee. We certainly didn’t go hungry! The lounge’s self-serve coffee and tea station was especially welcome before breakfast opened at 8 a.m. The snack bar offered made-to-order pizzas and salads, though hours varied during our stay. Staff were helpful and welcoming. They gave us advance notice of a two-hour water shutoff for repairs, allowing us to clean up before dinner. The lodge uses generator power, and we were also notified of a brief daytime interruption that didn’t affect our plans. Come with realistic expectations for a rustic lodge, and you’ll find a comfortable, welcoming base with the terrific convenience of staying inside the national park."
