Pod Brooklyn

Pod Brooklyn

8/10 Good
"2nd stay at Pod Brooklyn (same room even!) It was quiet & oh so clean. I have to admit, I adore the novelty of sleeping in the top bunk-- feels like summer camp but with way nicer bedding! But... was soooo disappointed that the self serve coffee bar was eliminated & replaced with a discount at the The Landwer Cafe. And It wasn't that I had to pay for my coffee, it was that the cafe didn't open till 800a on a weekday! As an early riser, cafe/hotel coffee service should be available by 600am ! I also had 2 minor maintenance items sent in the survey. Would still book again, but it wasn't the same 5-star experience as May 2025."

"Is a nice place to spend a few days, just note that there is limited things in the room, therefore everything must be purchased including coffee. There is a nice place to eat right next door so it works out."

"Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Not too far from the subway. Felt a bit nervous walking around the neighborhood at night, but was fine during the day. Good restaurants within walking distance. They offered a “grab and go” breakfast. The only thing available was bagels & croissants. I can’t eat gluten so there was nothing for me to eat. My teenage daughter said it was stale & couldn’t eat hers."

"My friends and I enjoyed our stay. From the very first night, we experienced being under well care. Our check in was at 4 PM, however we arrived at 11 AM and they still allowed us to check in early which was very kind. The workers at the front were very helpful and kind throughout our stay. I would recommend again 10/10"

Hotel The Villa

Hotel The Villa

"I stayed here on a solo trip as a woman, and it was a decent experience. The staff was friendly and responsive, especially Ashraf. He asked if I had eaten and even offered to give me food if I hadn’t! If you want somewhere clean to rest your head, then this will serve your purpose. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was nice and there is a working fridge and Roku TV. It is sparse, though, so it’s just a place to sleep, not hang out. You can hear noise and movement in the halls late at night, which is not ideal if you’re a light sleeper. Luckily, I WAS able to get a decent night’s sleep. Additionally, there is a construction site directly across from the hotel which started jackhammering at 7am on Saturday morning and continued until I left around 1pm. Just be aware and bring ear plugs if that’s a bother to you. The area is next to low income housing and people hang out late at night, but there are also families and people just going about their lives. As long as you’re vigilant, you should be fine. I didn’t have a problem, and I quickly adjusted to walking to and from the subway, even around 10pm. I would just say that the staff shouldn’t announce the room number out loud, just as a precaution and especially for women. However, everyone I encountered was friendly and minded their own business. Overall, I would recommend this as an affordable place to stay if you want to be close to the city."
