"Ok, so let's be realistic, for the price this hotel provides incredible value for money right on the seafront. Yes, it's a bit worn and dated inside, yes the curtains aren't thick enough, the beds are small and the linen not big enough, but the hotel is quiet, a pleasant temperature, the staff are friendly and helpful, there's even a continental breakfast thrown in, a hard boiled egg or two and a fresh pot of tea or coffee. What more could you ask for? Given how noisy some Travelodge guests can be and the fact the Premier Inn is on the junction of two main roads, I'd rather stay here and sample a bit of the unique old-world charm that seaside towns like this still have to offer. There's more than a touch of Fawlty Towers here, but who doesn't like a bit of Fawlty Towers? Just don't mention the war. I mentioned it once, but I think I got away with it!"
