This abandoned train depot was constructed by the State of Georgia in 1848, and is one of the oldest in Georgia. The depot witnessed many important events during the Civil War; a speech by Confederate President Jefferson Davis in 1861; the Great Locomotive Chase of 1862; a Civil War battle; and the first headquarters of General William T. Sherman during his Atlanta Campaign.

"We stayed here for just one night. Cabin was clean and welcoming. Hot tub was very clean and relaxing. As stated in other reviews and the listing the train is loud. It’s very close to this cabin. It came several times thru the night. Check in and out was easy. If we were passing thru and need a place to stay we would stay again."

"Great place, location & staff. Only complaint is if you get a room close to the interstate, it is extremely loud. Sound machine, fan, ear plugs are a must. Other than that, great place! "
