"Clean and tidy room but looking a little tired. Breakfast very busy and a lot of food items were taken so had to wait for things like Hash browns, eggs, tomatoes and by the time they did come out every thing else was running low."

"The best thing about the Mercure was the staff! Every single member was polite, courteous, friendly and helpful. The hotel has two wings and one side seems newly refurbished and the other seems rather tired and a bit jaded, but the standards were equally high in both. The food was very good, although the evening meal menu was limited choice the presentation and quality was good. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice in juices, cereals, hot cooked food, toast and croissants."

"Lovely hotel with free parking and a bus stop across. 12 mins into the city centre Friendly staff Great breakfast Spacious rooms Little disappointed as only 1 tea bag and 1 pk of biscuits on arrival. This could be rectified easy by going to reception but just a little inconvenient at the time Overall a good stay and would recommend"

"Hollins Hall is a beautiful property and we have stayed there a few times in the past. The grounds are well maintained and the hotel offers a bar and restaurant. Our room was clean, but basic and with the usual tea and coffee options. There was no bottled water provided, which would have been appreciated, and no refrigerator. I thought the bathroom amenities were somewhat lacking compared to other hotels, but we managed with what was there. We checked out early in the morning, so I can't comment on breakfast. We did not used any of the on site facilities because we were in the area for a funeral. Hollins Hall is special in it's secluded location, and I would recommend choosing a room that has all the options you require for your stay."

"I have stayed here a few times now . It’s an older hotel but the rooms are clean and the staff are lovely. There is also a good restaurant on site. The only thing that I don’t like which is not a problem for most people is that the tv is a smart one so you have to log in to apps etc and I just want to go in and switch it on and watch rather than a huge process ."
