Accommodation at Salomons Estate

"Lovely location & welcoming staff. Parking was adjacent to the accommodation which was handy. The bed was comfortable but with no air conditioning, the room was over-hot, so it was difficult to sleep. With windows open the overhead aircraft also disturbed our sleep. The first room we were allocated had a broken, jammed basin plug mechanism, so we appreciated being allocated the next door room. However, the shower trim in that room was paltry & fell into the shower while showering. We didn’t stay for breakfast, as we wanted an early start to our journey. We would stay again, as the location is good, but housekeeping need to check that rooms are fully functioning, before letting them!"

"Not true photos of property it was dirty smelly all facilities ie bar was closed staff were totally unhelpful when i said room was disgusting they said nothing can be done as cleaners were not in plug holes were full of hair toilet had feces still in it from someone before curtains were stained orange ment to be white dead bugs and dirt all over the ledges kettle was full of limescale bed was disgusting in all had to leave but was told have to email there main office for refunds as they didnt have a manager available for any enquiries went to pub accross the road where we were informed that it was old great western hotel that had been bought out ( photos they use )and since then all the staff had left and kitchen was condemned BUT THEY STILL OFFER BREAKFAST? And that it once was as advertised but not is more like a drug hostal when leaving was asked by what i persume was someone living in one of the rooms ( Do i know where to get any good GEAR ) over all i would avoid if zero is an option for score then minus 10 would be my score disgusting place needs investigating from travel companies and took off there sites til then"

"Great central location with easy on site parking. Excellent value for money including a great full English breakfast. Despite having booked a double room, check in staff helpfully reallocated us a twin accessible room on the ground floor as I’m currently on crutches. All staff were super friendly and helpful throughout our short stay."

The Spa Hotel

"Our Cosy Double was as advertised -small but well furnished and equipped with everything you could need. It was very clean. We had a lovely view of the extensive gardens. The breakfast was delicious, plenty of choice and freshly prepared and great service too. We also had a meal in the bar and that too was very good. The gardens are delightful and we walked around them many times and it was a real bonus to have several sightings of the deer. A small negative was that we had not realised that there are some EV chargers tucked away at the very back of the car park, as there is no information on this on the website or booking form and it was not mentioned to us at any point. Only late in our stay did we become aware of this. Process for using them is also a bit clunky - you have to plug in and ask reception to activate and the fee is a bit steep £20 for 24hrs if you are just wanting to top up. Nevertheless we had a lovely stay and would highly recommend the hotel."

"What a lovely hotel. Very easy booking in/out, lovely food and a great bar area. The building is beautiful and very well maintained, rooms very spacious, comfortable and everything works as it should. Excellent rates, a winner all round. Well done to all the staff, an excellent, comfortable stay was had."
