I chose this hotel after doing some research. I noticed it got very high in numbers rating and finally booked it. But I found out after booking that the stars were given based on only 2 separate parties who stayed there. Sample size is way too small.
Serious drawbacks: 1. no private driveway at front entrance, cars can't stop in front of hotel-must stop in the back; 2. staff do not speak good English; 3. house-keeping is careless (misplaced my items/forgot to remove used towels etc)
The first day I arrived I needed help to make a call but I do not speak Japanese. I went down to the reception. I asked the guy manning the reception to help me call a number. The first thing he said was he could not make the call. He told me to go back up to my room to make the call. I said I do not speak Japanese so I could not make the call from my room as I would not be able to understand a thing. I asked him to make the call from the land line in front of him at reception. He refused. I complained and told him how unhelpful the hotel was, including this guy. I said it was just a simple phone call and the hotel would not even help. After a few back and forth, the guy finally took out his own mobile phone and made the call for me. A new hotel that is so stingy and so unhelpful to a hotel guest is beyond my imagination. Eventhough the hotel is new (which is nice with everything new), the staff perhaps are also new to the industry and know nothing about hotel service.
