"Would never recommend to no one. It had no where to place our clothing. It had a small closet only. No ice makers on any of the floors. They had no hot water for showers. No dresser. The whole building only had 4 microwaves and a few fridges. No laundry for cleaning your clothing. Had to ask front end for ice. For it to be pricey I would take my stay somewhere other the this building. DO NOT GO. GO AT YOUR OWN RISK. "

"Staff didn’t know what was going on. Nongolf facilities at hotel despite listing it on its amenities. Continental breakfast underwhelming. A bit overpriced for amenities offered as well"

"While the pictures are beautiful and the hotel really did do a lot of work to update it, there’s noticeable signs of a rush job to paint or get the place show ready. The furniture had a lot of scuffs, the outlets were a little loose, and the paint job is mediocre at best. All in all, it was worth the stay and you cannot beat the location to the beach. The reason I would return is because of the staff! They were incredible, and the food was SHOCKINGLY amazing. Highly note that Sarah from the pool is out of this world as a server. Fast, kind, and reliable. The best conversationalist too! The hotel it self is a little outdated, but the staff is out of this world."

"Location is everything and the Penguin provides exactly that. You are just steps away from the beach, right at Lummus Park and Ocean Drive, but without the noise of all the restaurants on Ocean Drive. The staff is very nice. The rooms, especially the bathrooms are small. Most rooms will not have a view. However, the rooms are clean and provide everything you need to rest up at night before going back outside to enjoy everything South Beach Miami has to offer. The AC units are a bit older and noisy, something that could be improved on, as well as the shelf right above the sink, which should be moved to the other side. Additional areas to hang wet clothes or towels would be nice too. The bedding was simple but clean. A headboard would have been nice and could spruce up the room instantly. The pool area provides a nice view of downtown Miami. It’s not big but if you want a pool, they got one. The Penguin is nothing fancy but was exactly what we needed during our stay, affordable, right at the beach, watching sunrises every morning with only a few steps to the beach and in walking distance to all the hot spots. We were happy with our decision to stay at the Penguin."
