"The room was clean, the staff was nice, close to the beach. Downside- the room came with only one wash cloth. I asked three times and never got one. I had to use a hair towel which worked but wasn’t ideal. Requested toilet paper as well and never got it had to go to the front desk for it. The pump for the body wash in the shower didn’t work. I had to remove the top and use it that way. Minor inconvenience but for the cost of the room they could do better. The electric went out twice while we were there only at this location so I’m not sure if they blew a fuse or what. We never did get an explanation. Crazy how hotels charge a 300$ deposit to protect their items but can’t provide the basics. Over all it was ok. "

"The Catalina is in desperate need of a remodel. There are many beautiful spaces in the hotel at the bars, restaurants pool, and lobby area, but that stops once you start walking to the room. The property is showing its age between the broken elevator, the stained carpets, holes in the wall and oddly missing amenities (like a toilet paper holder?) If you are looking for a basic room, with a decent bed and a clean room to sleep, it meets the requirement. The staff and service do try to make up for the age of the property. Great front desk staff, a free happy hour, available beach towels and regular cleanings. It’s a great staff trying to make the best of a broken down hotel. "

"Location is great if you want the south beach energy and as close to the beach as you can get. Noise from an industrial HVAC unit outside made the balcony unusable. I could still hear it all night with the balcony door closed. Room didnt have any dresser/drawers so i had to live out of my suitcase. Bathroom had no towel bars. The mini fridge and the air conditioning vent both leaked water onto the floor throughout my 5 nights. The small area rug under the bed was very dirty/stained. I wouldn't stay here again. "
