Durrant House Hotel

"We stayed six nights and enjoyed it immensely. There is a real homely feeling to the hotel. There were a few niggles but you get them wherever you go. The staff were polite, friendly and most attentive. The bar and restaurant were more than satisfactory and the heated outdoor pool was a brilliant addition. We will definitely be going back especially since my partners friend is residing in Bideford now and we will happily reserve a room at Durant House Hotel whenever we visit."

"Would highly recommend staying at high barns. Had a great week in north Devon. The barn is great to get to nearby coast/ beach and to venture further out. Great to be near a very large Asda! Communication was great throughout, knew where everything was and easy to contact if needed. Great to have air conditioning, private gas bbq along with lovely rooms and comfortable beds. Loved the use of the swimmming pool, and having allotted times. Very family and dog friendly! We would love to stay again in the future!"
Westbeach Holiday Apartments

"These apartments are brilliant if you are travelling with children, as we were. Lovely and spacious, with a dishwasher and coffee (ground) machine. Great oven and microwave, fridge freezer working well. Kitchen prep area was a good size, too. Bathroom was very clean and well finished, although the mirror wasn't lit. We couldn't get the living room TV to work, but we didn't contact the host, so this is not a complaint as I'm sure it would've been sorted. The TV in the bedroom was fine but we were unable to log out of someone else's Netflix. The balcony space and dining area were roomy enough for 5 of us. The communal areas look a bit scary and unkempt but inside the apartment is completely different. The lift is temperamental and didn't work on our last day. There is ample, unallocated parking. It could be signposted a bit better, but the directions in the email are good. There was a side view of the beach from our apartment, and some very loud seagulls! Also to note there is a children's play area outside with a squeaky swing - this may haunt your dreams if you've got the windows open! You may hear music from the square or nearby venues, but they all seemed to finish at a reasonable time. Overall a pleasant stay which suited our family well and was great value for money."

"We found the stay very enjoyable. The hotel was in an excellent location for the local amenities and the beach. Parking was never a problem. There were plenty of places to eat and drink, both inside and al fresco. We particularly enjoyed the Thatchers cider. Everywhere was very clean and all the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We would be very happy to recommend your hotel to anyone we know going to Westward Ho, and would like to return one day."

"We were a party of 11 , three generations , staying for 7 nights. The location was good for access to local beaches etc. The walk to Westward Ho was an acceptable 10-15 minutes on a track through the woods. The facilities were just what we needed Highlights for us were The spacious and well equipped kitchen that made family cooking easy. The games room and cinema which were well utilised by the children"

"Apartmant was great in a very quiet area. Shops,beach,shops,bars and eating places were a 15 mins walk down a steep hill.Have to say not ideal for persons with mobility issues as steep hill walking back up from shop and beach area. It was fine for us."

"Excellent property, so much space for everyone. Beautifully maintained. Great communication from the host and touches like a well stocked hamper and fresh flowers on arrival. Honestly worth every penny. We didn't want to leave and certainly want to return for another holiday. Thank you Rose it was a gorgeous holiday and we made lots of lovely memories!"
