"This property requires a non-refundable deposit and then asks for an additional cash deposit via bank transfer, along with a copy of identification. They state that this deposit will be refunded within 5–7 days after departure, provided before access to the property is granted. This arrangement raises concerns about legitimacy. It is advisable to avoid booking this location."

"I rarely leave a negative review, but my recent stay at Hotel Versey Chicago was so disappointing, that I feel obliged to warn future guests. The problems started right away. I was directed to park my car in a parking garage around the corner that costs guests an additional $40 per night. There was no garage attendant, no elevator, a dimly lit staircase, and a malfunctioning payment machine at exit time. After walking back to the hotel to check in, they immediately charged my card over $1400 for two nights, and then proceeded to tell me that their elevators were out of service, and that they hadn’t worked “in a while” Options, walk up and down narrow staircases with your luggage, or ride the ancient freight elevator with a staff member. The room itself was so outdated and tiny, I had to laugh. The bathroom sink clogged with first use, the TV signal didn’t work, the only ice machine was back down in the lobby, and the ironing board was broken. In the morning, there’s no coffee in lobby, and upon returning back to the room after 4:00, I realized there’s no housekeeping service either! The hotel staff was the bright spot, and they really tried to be helpful, but all they could do was apologize and offer to take 25% off my stay. The Lincoln Park location is good but Hilton really needs to completely renovate Hotel Versey, or lower the prices. Save yourself the disappointment and book somewhere else."

"The room was clean but very small, and it was well-worn. The common areas were also well worn. The hotel looks good from the outside butbis disappoiting the moment you step in the door. The hotel needs a make-over. In the room, the refrigerator was packed with items you had to buy, leaving no room for leftovers from local eateries. There was no microwave in the room, which I thought the advertisement on the internet said they had (but I could be mistaken) so we brought some popcorn to pop but there was no microwave to pop it in. There also was no coffee maker in the room. You had to go down to the lobby to get coffee in the morning. Having a one cup coffee maker in the room with plenty of coffee would have GREATLY enhanced our stay. We could dress slowly and not have to jump into clothes to run downstairs for coffee. Because we paid Cubs game day rates, we paid $546 a night. So don't be cheap -- give us something to make it worth that rate. Our cab driver indicated other travelers had been disappointed with the hotel too. The male staff acted indifferent to us. The women staff were very nice to us and helpful. What I liked was that it was walking distance to Wrigley Field, there were good eateries close by, and the neighborhood was safe and friendly, even at night. Lots of women walk their dogs late and seemed OK about it."

"Right across the street from Wrigley this place is the place to stay if watching cubs game and visiting Wrigley. Gallagher way. Brand new. Fabulous staff that accommodated my early arrival bag storage & changing in rest room pre game. Only issue is parking. Not clear signage but it’s off Clark street look for big on building. Once you leave u pre pay but pull all the way up to exit doors or they won’t open spent 15 minutes figuring out how to trigger the exit Fabulous pregame or other entertainment area for snacks and drinks pre game. Unassociates Mordecai is great for dinner and steingolds for bagels and coffee."
