Drury Inn & Suites Austin North

"Everything was great, from check in to check out. The front counter staff very welcoming and helpful. This is the second time we stayed here. The breakfast and dinner was amazing. The manager which I believe was there helping from another location in San Antonio was always helping and talking to everyone. I did not get his name but he was maybe in his mid to late 20’s, tall and thin. At one point he was making the waffles for everyone. Jack is amazing this was our second time intern and he makes it feel like home. Wendy as well was very welcoming and was able to provide us with answers to our questions. The first day when we got there a young gentleman greeted us with black glasses he was short. He did appear to be nervous so maybe he was new and in training. Next the bar tenders which I believe served other duties because one of them brought up a fridge when we thought ours was broke. They were both very friendly and provide a great atmosphere. Rooms were clean and spacious. The first time we went we tried the AT&T hotel on the UT campus, the convenience to the campus is great but the service and welcoming atmosphere at Drury has won us over and we will use this hotel anytime we go to Austin. Thank you to all the staff and all their hard work."

Courtyard by Marriott Austin-University Area

"I've stayed at this location a few times in the past, although I haven't been there in the last few years. Parking is free and easily accessible from the I-35 feeder road, although visitors need to slow down and watch for the sharp entrance. Check-in and -out were quick and easy, and I was placed on the eight floor. Amenities are few in the rooms - tea kettle and a few tea packets (one which looked like it had been around for awhile) and coffee filters. No microwave. Blow dryer available in the bathroom, and good closet space. Bed was large and fairly comfortable, although the sheets were a bit scratchy and stiff. Took awhile to figure out the thermostat. Bathroom was large, but I couldn't get hot water in the sink. I asked the desk clerk on the first night if someone could look at it, and she said she could have someone up that night. I said the next day would be ok, but she entered the request in the log. Never did see a maintenance worker, and never did get hot water in the sink. On the other hand, the water in the shower was very hot, and the faucet itself a bit stiff to move. No free breakfast, but items can be purchased at the cafe bar. A couple of restaurants within walking distance. Overall the building shows the usual wear and tear - carpet stains, peeling paper and boarding, etc. Fairly quiet except for the noise from I-35 throughout the day."
