You are slightly away from central Kumamoto so if you’re looking for more local eats and to walk around you have to take the short tram in (or bus) "

"The hotel seems fairly new and was very clean. Moreover, the location is right by a tram stop, and is a very short walk to a lot of restaurants and stores, including a nice Shinshigai (large covered shopping area) that is across the street. Only about a 20 minute walk to Kumamoto Castle as well. The bed was very firm, which some might not like, but I thought it was good."
