Badia Vecchia Apartment

English-style mansion built in 1939 by the rich old owner Sir. Robert Pretty Barlow, admirer of beauty and good living. A precursor of modern gay culture, he hosted writers, painters and illustrious travelers. He himself a traveler, helped to make Taormina known to many of his countrymen and others.
The apartment is located on the first floor of the house in a very central and panoramic position, overlooking the Etna, the Bay of Giardini Naxos and the Badia Vecchia, one of the most significant monuments of the city.

Our host gave us all the info to make our stay wonderful. Great location to everything we needed They arranged off site parking for 20 € a day. Breakfast buffet at the hotel across from us for 10€ pp. excellent food there also the restaurant had a rooftop bar Great food Our host was awesome. Highly recommend.

A dream vacation!

Furio's apartment is so lovely and in a great location, but the real bonus is how hospitable and helpful Furio was during our stay. From picking us up at the bus stop to helping us with dinner reservations, it could not have been a nicer stay!

A peaceful apartment, with everything you could possibly need, hidden away at the heart of Taormina with beautiful bedroom views of Etna. Our host, Furio, could not have been more helpful, giving excellent suggestions of how to make the most of our time in Taormina.

We really enjoyed our stay at the apartment. We were able to walk to many good restaurants and sites. Our host, Furio, gave us a great welcome and provided lots of information about the area and restaurants. He also arranged valet parking for us and facilitated the arrangements. The outside stairs were not always well lit at night. But overall, a great experience! We liked the balcony, too!

Perfect location!

Furio, our host, was fantastic to work with! He made checking super easy and was able to help us with our travel plans. He also gives you acres to a fantastic breakfast buffet at the Hotel Continental across the street with amazing views of the coast and Etna. When we arrived the shops were closed so he gave us a bottle of his own personal wine. The rooms are spacious and clean and it’s nice to have a sitting room with a patio. The location is straight up the steps from the Porta Catania which is the entrance to the pedestrian zone. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

Fantastic in every way

Beautiful apartment in a perfect location -- walk to everything but also out of the fray. Furio and Paola know the town so well and were very generous with their time, recommending and booking restaurants for us, helping us make the most of our stay. Superb Taormina stay

Both hosts Furio and his wife Paola are the essence of professionalism from start to finish! We were made to feel welcome even before we arrived; greeted upon arriving with full complete explanation of everything we needed to know including recommendations for restaurants not touristy! Their place is exactly as described, close to everything, quiet and just perfect! The day we were to leave there was a train strike and Furio looked into everything for us, he found out buses were still running and made arrangements to get us quickly to the bus station all the while ensuring we didn’t need to worry; an absolute gem of a host!!! Really nice people I would absolutely 100% recommend their place for a wonderful stay!!!

Muy perfecto!

The space is very comfortable with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. Furio was so kind to pick us up at the train station on arrival. There were all the things you need for a comfortable stay including coffee, water and a bottle of wine. The view from the bedrooms and patio is magnificant! Location is perfect, right above the main street. We will definitely share with friends.

Amazing Taormina

Our wonderful host Furio could not have been more helpful, so thoughtful welcoming us with a bottle of Etna Red Wine. Location was superb, easy to access everything. Furio took care of our car, helped with local restaurants and pointed us in the right direction to experience amazing Arancini.

Best VRBO host ever!

My friend and I traveled in Sicily for two weeks and stayed at VRBO properties. Furio was a wonderful host. He picked us up at the train station and dropped us off at the end of our stay. Going over and above what’s required! It was our favorite stay. The apartment is beautiful. Stylish roomy, and comfortable. And a great location. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone and hope to be able to return.

Best location and host

We very much enjoyed our stay and the location. The bed was very comfortable and the bedroom had a wonderful view. Furio, the owner and host gave us excellent suggestions and helped us to find parking for our car. You really don’t need a car however, as we only used it once during our week long stay of one week. There is laundry o few doors down from the flat that was convenient.

Perfection in Hospitality

We cannot rave enough about our stay here. Our hosts were absolutely the nicest people and most helpful. The description of location, home, and amenities were spot on. We cannot wait to come back and bring friends. The hosts gave us two wonderful restaurants to enjoy and they were amazing. We enjoyed vino on the patio with views from the home of Mt. Etna. We are so pleased our paths crossed with this couple.

Cozy Taormina Apartment with Excellent Location and Comfy Beds

We had a lovely stay at Furio’s apartment in Taormina. There were two couples in our group. The location was excellent, just a short walk to the downtown area with wonderful shops and a variety of restaurants. Furio kindly arranged valet parking for us (20 Euro per day) and a private tour of Mt Etna (60 Euro per person). He also provided us with fantastic restaurant recommendations.  As for the apartment, the beds were incredibly comfortable! The kitchen was basic, with a small compact fridge and no oven or toaster. As we enjoy cooking in sometimes, this was a bit challenging. Fortunately, Furio arranged a discounted continental breakfast (10 Euro per person) at the nearby hotel for us, which made not having a fully equipped kitchen easier to manage.  Overall, the apartment suited the four of us well, and we had a wonderful stay in Taormina.
