"Every member of the staff was wonderful, from housekeepers to managers and everyone in between. The location is near central sites, yet away from the throng of tourists. The spa is a treat. Visually, the property is attractive. The guides and excursions arranged by the hotel were the outstanding.
Poor maintenance overshadowed the charm of the building where our room was located. It was clean, but the 1950/1960 cooling system is not air conditioning. It blows centralized air across water pipes and took hours to cool with curtains closed. An electrical outlet pulled out of the wall. A guest on the first floor had the same problem. Outdoor speakers played music at night and in the morning. Single pane windows shared the sound in our room. The room itself was oddly arranged. The TV was behind the dresser mirror, far from the left side of the bed, such that viewing was impractical. The sofa was beside the dresser where the TV could not bee seen.
I give the property an overall rating of four stars because the staff earned five stars. The room deserves two stars. Another guest might give an overall rating of three stars. I give four because the staff cannot be faulted for deficient capital expenditure funding."
