"My partner and I stayed here as a surprise weekend away for her 30th Birthday. Our friends joined us mid-stay for a few nights also. The location is amazing. It’s within great distance to local amenities and restaurants and perfect for just walking around the picturesque countryside. The lodge itself is not something I’ve stayed in before. It felt like something from a James Bond film, with movie posters on the walls and mid century furniture. It was very cosy indeed and we loved our stay. It was warm and comfy. The only criticism I would give is that in 2026, there should be better WiFi coverage, and a modern TV. The TV is extremely old with a Roku box connected for Netflix etc but quality is poor, so could be modernised. It’s nice to snuggle up to a movie after a long day walking and evening in the hot tub. The bathroom was a little outdated and needed some TLC and the lodge was full of cobwebs on the ceilings/shelves. Despite these minor “personal preferences”, the lodge is very good value and we would like to return in the summer with access to the pool."

"Lovely little cottage great for a short break. We were 2 couples and it suited us just fine had everything we needed. Situated in a narrow street, no problem finding on street parking and we had 2 cars. Stroud is a lovely place with a great farmers market on Saturday which was only a short from the cottage. "

"Everything about these apartments is first class. Always stay here when in Stroud. Cannot fault it."

"Cotswold Way Cottage was ideal for the 3 of us and in a good location for where we wanted to be. Lots of walks close by up to Rodbourgh Common an down to the canal. Close enough to get into Stroud easily. The only down side was the parking, it was a busy time of year and what with the pub over the road having no parking it wasn’t always easy to find any off road parking during the evening."

"Very cute townhouse, had everything you would need, the stairs are narrow so just something to be mindful of if you have big heavy luggage "

"Just DON’T. We were misled by pics and text - paid £102 for a shoebox room with minimal facilities and staff not overly helpful. We chose as it looked like they had a Greek restaurant plus steaks - turned up to be told they only do pizzas! We went somewhere else to eat. No breakfast as we are told the toaster isn’t working! Total joke of a place. Didn’t even give them any trade arms the bar. Never to return. "

"Check-in was early, which I appreciated. However, the room fell well below expectations: it had no window, a damp smell, no hot water, and felt very run-down. It also didn’t feel clean, and there were no hooks in the bathroom for towels. Overall, I would not recommend the Stables."
