10/10
We had a lovely break in this cottage and can highly recommend it. It's in a secluded area just on the outskirts of Slad village in the Cotswolds. We are gradually walking the Cotswold way and this was an in an ideal spot for us to complete some more stages. We walked to and from Stroud and Painswick as well as to the local pub which is popular and the locals were very friendly.
The cottage itself is well appointed, warm and cosy. The kitchen had everything we needed for our stay and the heating was reliable. It was not quite warm enough to sit and eat outside but there is a lovely view of the owners' garden to enjoy from the front of the cottage. Out the back is part of the Laurie Lee Way, a nature walk of around 6 miles which can be shortened if required. Although there are some 'interesting' country lanes around Slad we coped OK without an SUV style vehicle.
Beautiful part of the world and we would highly recommend it.
