Welcome to The Bradshaw:
Unwind in the heart of Stratford’s boldest & most prominent restoration masterpiece. Brick facades unfold before you, buttressed by 200-year-old industrial timbre framing and accented with tasteful, modern finishings and historical décor elements.
Winner of the 2019 James Anderson Award for Heritage Preservation & featured in National Geographic, the Bradshaw building has long been one of Stratford’s most beloved architectural landmarks. With historical roots cultivated by a spirit of progress, the property takes its rightful place at the forefront of the city’s premium luxury vacation rental offerings.
Originally built in 1903 in the Edwardian Classical style, complete with channeled brick and radiating vousisoirs that frame arched windows and entrances, the Mooney Biscuit and Candy Factory defined the entrepreneurial spirit of the time.
It was in this spirit that successive enterprises built their own legacies at 245 Downie Street such as The Bradshaw Lofts namesake, J.L. Bradshaw, one of Canada's oldest wholesalers.
Professionally hosted by hospitality expert, sommelier, and Stratford native, Brendan McKenna (The Kressley Group Limited), all suites are fully equipped with modern kitchen fittings, spacious washroom facilities, complimentary on-site parking, and ensuite laundry fixtures for your convenience.

Dawn-Angela Seeley
Artist | Instructor | Art Tour Facilitator | Author
Dawn-Angela Seeley was born in Yorkshire, England and grew up in South Africa where she received her education before emigrating to Canada, where she attended the Ontario Collage of Art & Design. As creative director in her own graphic design studios in Johannesburg & Toronto,
Dawn-Angela experienced the ever domineering role of the computer in her work:
“I loved painting, in oils, acrylics, watercolours, and I found myself
longing to give up my mouse and monitor, for a brush and palette again.”
For the last 20 years she has concentrated solely on painting and teaching in Oakville and Stratford, Ontario, in Bordeaux, France and in Tuscany, Italy.
She illustrated and co-authored an excursion guide: An Adventure in Tuscany, and a children’s story, Beppino, the Friendly Tuscan Wolf.
Dawn-Angela has come full circle: Her preference still to paint plein air while travelling abroad, in watercolours, fluid/acrylics & oils.
She is also experienced in gilding and hand-painted black & white photographs now in her Stratford studio, la Galleria. She accepts commissioned works which include architectural, landscape, still life, wild flowers and non-objective fluid pours.
Her art documents a special moment in time and memories long to be remembered. Her paintings (in whatever medium inspire her in the moment), are indeed F I N E A R T.
Dawn-Angela now primarily paints custom works to size & specifications for private and corporate clients. She loves to work closely with clients, discussing their ideas, photo references, nostalgia, colours, size and placement, collaborating through discussion from concept to completion along the shared artistic journey — a process that many artist shy away from.
Her works are included in galleries and private collections in Canada, United Kingdom, America and Italy.
Dawn-Angela’s fine art is also available in la Galleria, her home studio where she is honoured to show her works twice a year in shows and also by appointment, in Stratford, Ontario, Canada.
