"This is a lovely friendly pub with excellent staff. The locals were welcoming as well. The beer brewed on the premises was excellent as was the food. I can't fault our stay there. Plenty of parking at the pub now, with a new car park. Handy travel time to Critch, Matlock and the Peak District. Located on the side of a steep hill, so walking anywhere is a good bit of exercise!"

"We had a family room, 3 adults and 2 children, at the last minute we had to bring the dog, Lorraine was very accommodating, we stayed for 2 nights and only got charged £10 extra for the dog, the beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was lovely, would definitely stay here again. The room was spacious and comfortable and the entire lodge is well decorated with attention to detail including the music in the Drawing Room, information about the local area and amenities in guest rooms. Ziz was generous, helpful and knowledgeable and makes the most amazing breakfasts, as well as lovely coffee. The homely vibe makes the B&B unique and characterful. We would love to stay again"

"Hilary and Graham are very welcoming. We were contacted before arrival with directions. They even had a pot of tea ready when we arrived which was very much appreciated.
