"Room was spacious, clean, had an ironing board, hair dryer, TV and air con. Bathroom was clean. I slept well and it was quiet. Breakfast was very good and was included in room rate. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful."

"Speedy check-in. Check in first before you pay to park & as long as they take your email it is free. Comfy beds, clean room, decent toilet rolls, dove body wash & a great cooked breakfast. WiFi a bit sketchy & carpet in corridors has seen better days. That said didn’t put us of at all, would recommend & would definitely stay again."

"Stoke by Nayland Resort is a wonderful retreat in the heart of Constable Country. The setting is stunning, the rooms are comfortable, and the spa and dining are top-class. "I am a regular guest of the Holiday Inn, Abbots Lane, Colchester and have always found the hotel both inviting and comfortable. The staff are excellent and always friendly and helpful. I’ve dined in the restaurant on many occasions and the meals have all been excellent with a wide variety of menu choices. I would highly recommend a stay here! "

"Really friendly staff. Lovely sunroom to sit in near reception. Comfortable room with a modern and very clean bathroom. Helpful touch of a much needed fan in the room. Quiet in the room despite not being far from the main road. Helpful that Sainsbury’s is only a five minute walk away, but don’t forget to log your car on the iPads in reception before popping to the shop. "
