"Good spot for younger travelers. A little loud at night with windows open. Small fan provided in lieu of air conditioning. Cool and very ‘Hamburgy’ but also in need of a few modern updates to make more comfortable. Room had a few stains on floor. Breakfast was good. Hotel staff helpful and friendly. "

"I spent 4 nights while a tourist in Hamburg. Hotel Altan did the job for me. It's a couple of short blocks from the U-Bahn station and a 20 minute walk to the center. There are lots of restaurants in the neighborhood. The neighborhood was lively but my room was quiet. "

"Toller Service…. Sehr zu empfehlen Die Ankunft war leider etwas holprig, es wurde aber alles versucht uns glücklich zu machen, konnten sogar am nächsten Morgen noch das Zimmer wechseln! Für mich ein Nachteil sind die zu schmalen und teilweise zu hellen Vorhänge, so dass man das Zimmer nicht richtig dunkel bekommt. Ich habe dort schon in drei Zimmern übernachtet und es war in allen Zimmern so."
