"Repeat customer. Hotel is located well near many restaurants and shopping. This trip surprised us as there isn't a coffee maker in the room anymore. That's just no going to work. I don't want to tredge down to the lobby for coffee in the morning. Please fix this Holiday Inn! Breakfast was good. Service is always top notch. Hotels is showing some tiredness and needs some refreshing in the room shower and common areas like hallways and elevators. Overall, a reasonable option for a quick overnight."

Country Hearth Inn & Suites Edwardsville St. Louis

"This is an older hotel, but still great! It kind of has a bed and breakfast feel with the country touches and home cooked breakfasts. The mismatched coffee mugs topped off the feel. Such a great value. We’ll stay here again when we’re in the area."

Comfort Inn Alton near I-255

"Check in was quick and easy. Room was nice. BUT… pillows were doll size, bed was hard, breakfast was supposed to be from 6-9. Was down at 6:15 and the guy was just getting stuff prepped, no coffee even started. So left to get coffee, one of the employees truck was parked under the front when I left, came back and truck was still there. Still no breakfast so we checked out same guy was behind counter on his phone and when we gave him the room cards he was rude. Same truck parked in the front so we had to walk out to our car with our luggage. We won’t be back."

"This was the 2nd time I stayed at this particular hotel. Both times I was not impressed. I stayed at the same hotel about an hour away in Festus, Missouri several months back and it was phenomenal. This hotel in Alton, Illinois, on the other hand, was not. I called early in the morning requesting an early check-in. The man on the phone, Tristan, said that it would not be an issue and I could check in at 11:30. I arrived at 11:45. Tristan was still there. He said a room was not available yet and to check back at 12:30 or 1. I explained to him the reason for the early check in. All he wanted to talk about was why he was having a stressful morning. I stuck around until 12:30 and checked back with him. He is still there, but this time another person is there. I explained to her why I needed an early check-in. She apologized and proceeded to go to the housekeeping staff to attempt to accommodate me. At about 1 the room was ready and I proceeded to check in. Tristan again was rude and not helpful. I accidentally handed him my credit card and he replied "driver's license, question mark." So I get checked in and head to my room. The toilet did not work properly. Luckily, I never had to use it the 2 days I stayed. The hotel was not very clean. Floors always needed to be mopped the entire time. I go up there often. So looks like I will be trying another hotel the next time. Time to give the Hampton a chance. Everyone else was ok, but definitely not overly nice the way I expect staff."
