"This is a lovely hotel! Our room was super clean and tidy. I loved the large bathroom. The beds were comfy and I appreciated the fan for sleeping at night. We did not dine here but there is a Starbucks attached. Another bonus was that the train station was right across the street. I would definitely stay here again. We are from the U.S. and we find the local people very friendly."

"Hotel staff were great. I used the gym and pool facilities on this occasion. Gym was large and had an additional small gym room too. Sauna. Jacuzzi and pool were great. However the steam room was not working. Rooms are clean and breakfast has a great variety. Coffee machines had minimal items available which was a shame."

"The hotel was clean and modern. The breakfast in the adjacent restaurant was good although it wasn't available on the Monday. The toilet seat in my room wouldn't stay up. The TV remote didn't work. With the help of a friend we worked out how to switch the power on to the TV (behind the screen) and we were able to control it using the buttons underneath the bottom right of the TV. We worked out how to switch on the power to the shower by using the pull chord. I discovered that my double bed was two single beds pushed together. I did sleep reasonably well. Overall I enjoyed my stay. The hotel was in a convenient location for the town centre and for public transport to the Beamish Museum and the Tanfield Railway. The staff member I spoke to was friendly."
