A vacation destination in Southern Vermont
10/10 Excellent
"Our family just returned from a magical 12-day stay at Stoniwoods. Not one thing has been overlooked in this property from the well-tended grounds, the spacious and spotless cabin, comfy mattresses and bed linens, to the well-stocked kitchen. Beth, our host, couldn't have been more welcoming and responsive. We needed to text her to clarify a few things, and she always responded immediately. The cabin itself has a lovely, homey vibe - a real log cabin, but with all the creature comforts you rarely find on vacation. We especially appreciated that there was plenty of comfy seating for everyone. There's also room for board games, card playing, either inside or on the screened-in porch. A couple of times we had a campfire in the backyard pit with plenty of provided split wood, and we roasted marshmallows while listening to local fireworks. Ceiling fans in all the rooms kept us cool at night.Stoniwoods is conveniently located a short distance from Lake Raponda - cool and refreshing afternoon option. There are several wooded trails nearby. The charming town of Wilmington is a short 8-10 minute drive away.In short, Stoniwoods is a real keeper. We will definitely return."
"Perfect stay. Hosts very friendly and the breakfast was excellent. We stayed just the one night as part of a road trip, visiting from the UK and found the Colonel Williams Inn a refreshing change from the larger corporate hotels and would have been more than happy to stay longer."
"We enjoyed our stay at this property. Clean, comfortable, well stocked kitchen, nice furniture and spaces, close to many attractions. Would definitely stay here again!"
"Doug’s house is gorgeous and he was very communicative and helpful the entirety of our stay! Special thanks to Ryan for making sure we got out following a massive snow storm"
"This house was the perfect family get away. My family enjoyed everything the property had to offer and also skiing close by. Amanda was very quick to respond to all my questions. Overall my family had a fantastic trip."
Cottage in the woods with a firepit, grill, washer/dryer, & AC - dog-friendly

"The cabin is cozy and sweet- we have a dog and small family and wanted to ski at Mt Snow. Cabin is short 20 minute drive to ski. Super cute town of Wilmington just a few minutes away. Go to Dots or Alpen Glow! Shaws grocery 2 minutes away. House has Pottery Barn vibes. Decent sized kitchen sitting and dining area. 2Bedroom 2 bath. This is not a house for a large crew but for a family getaway it was perfect. Street is quiet and residential. Neighbors seem really friendly. We would love to come back to rent in summer as well to see the lake right across the street.Bring your own coffee press or colombe if you’re a coffee snob - the little cafes were closed on Sunday!"
