"Beautiful location. Room was comfy and cozy. The bathtub was amazing after a day out exploring. The room we had had windows looking at the sky / and a beautiful view over the water. It was quiet and lovely. The restaurant was fairly priced and delicious. The included breakfast was delicious (and hot) and plentiful. The staff were so friendly and helpful. I was sad to leave it felt like home after just a couple of nights. There was lots of parking (free)"

"This was a favorite place on our travels throughout Scotland. In a peaceful setting, everything was lovely and immaculately cared for, with many extra nice and small touches. Jane and Richard were excellent hosts, welcoming us warmly, sharing helpful suggestions, and providing a wonderful breakfast with homemade bread. This was a great stay and highly recommend! "

"Never saw the circular staircase that was pictured in add. Location was great. Room was adequate. bathroom clean and comfortable bed. Dining room chairs were dirty, blinds in dining were dirty. Very slow to be waited on for dinner. We left. Food display seemed clean. Staff nice."

"Das Haus und die Zimmer sind liebevoll und geschmackvoll möbliert. Das Haus und alle Räume sind ziemlich neu. Die Unterkunft ist sehr ruhig oberhalb des Hafens gelegen. Die Inhabern ist außerordentlich freundlich und hilfsbereit und bereitet ein sehr gutes Frühstück frisch zu, wozu sogar ein aufwendig geschnittener frischer Fruchtsalat zählt.. Insgesamt habe ich es bedauert, wegen meiner Reisepläne nur eine Nacht dort verbringen zu können und kann die Unterkunft nur zu 100 % weiterempfehlen."

"The ground floor is being renovated, so reception is at The Kirkwall Hotel next door. So there is investment here. That being said, hopefully the rooms and floors are next. The existing building is shabby, though my small, single room was functional at best. 5'x10', plus a small bathroom that could do with new sink fixtures. The tight shower had hot water and good water pressure. Staff next door were very helpful and welcoming. Park nerely anywhere "there's no traffic warden"."

"The room was clean & comfortable, however it was noisy from car park outside window and from laundry next door. Draft from window, had to keep blind and curtains closed, to keep warm. Disappointed that even after discussing with 2 members of staff on 2 separate occasions, requirements for dog friendly room & eating, in advance of our visit, we were made to feel uncomfortable, when request not initially adhered to.
