"It is a spectacular property with amazing location next to the Catheral and the best shopping and restaurants in Palma. Beautifully refurbished rooms with very comfortable bed, good sized rooms, great AC when it’s hot, great showers with strong water pressure and lots of hot water. Most of all lovely staff who are always pleasant and commited to customer service. Highly recommend this hotel. We are coming back."

"This hotel has an amazing location right on the harbour. I recommended getting a sea view room with balcony so you can enjoy the twinkling nights at night and the beautiful bright mornings watching the boat trips and kayaking in the harbour. Loved the generosity of a free small bottle of fizz and a voucher for a glass of sangria in the room on arrival. Fantastic breakfast with lots of local food to try and good vegan/vegi options. We All the staff were really friendly and the room was spotlessly clean with a really comfy bed. To be honest we’re delighted with this hotel and it really helped us enjoy a great few days in beautiful Palma. 100% recommended!"

Hotel Portofino Mallorca

"Not a four star hotel. More like bad student accommodation with prison vibes. We have stayed in better budget, even lower star hotels. Just a strange place. The receptionist was unwelcoming and abrupt and no smile or friendliness. The rooms are cramped and so basic. The carpet is worn and like it’s been pulled from a an old office. The floors were incredibly hard and rough, and my daughter feel off the bed and badly bashed her head and it also scraped her skin. We asked for two cots a few days before arriving and we got a lot of defensiveness and rudeness from reception on check in, until it was sorted. Air conditioning doesn’t really alter the temperature - just stays on the same setting so it’s warm in the rooms. There is no amenities in the rooms apart from a small tv, desk, chair, bed and a soap clamped to the wall. No kettle, no water, no welcome information, no personal touches in the room at all. The basic room and metal stairs feel like a prison. We didn’t use to pool as it was in the shade. There is a scruffy balcony you can sit out on which is good for some fresh air but you are overlooked by your neighbours. The hotel is near the beach which looks good but not many restaurants were open nearby as it was Tuesday and they all seemed shut. The bedding and towels thankfully seemed clean but the bathroom is tired and basic."

Hotel Victoria Gran Meliá

"The hotel is fine - I would struggle to say 5 star. The pool is nice but by a busy road and the terrace is lovely with great views over the port. We booked a cathedral view room but there was a massive palm tree in the way as we were on the 1st floor. However, there is no free water in the room - you have to use the mini bar at €5 per bottle. Our room was not serviced in the morning when we were out. When it was eventually serviced after I called the maid barged passed us as we were trying to leave the room to get in and looked very grumpy. At the pool one of the attendants just grunted at us and then shoved some sort of fruit cup at us without asking if we actually wanted it. At the checkout they tried to charge us €50 for a late checkout when they had agreed a one hour extension for free (they did eventually agree we only had a one hour extension and it was complimentary but it took a while). And when I asked to see the final bill before paying the extras they seemed frustrated and eventually managed to give me a breakdown. If you need to stay by the port and want a nice pool then it's a good choice. Some (not all) of the staff just don't seem that happy at the hotel. I wouldn't go back."

"The lunch/dinber menu was lovely. We ordered the burger and chips and mango chicken wrap and chips, really tasty, reasonably priced. Breakfast in hotel was buffet style, plenty to choose from, even one of the team did made to order omelettes. Highly recommend. Room was spacious and nice feature balcony directly over looking pool. Will definately return."
