"Very convenient location for exploring York. Surprisingly quiet considering it's above a pub. It was a bit dilapidated, but very clean. Couldn't get the TV to work, and felt awkward to ask for assistance, since there's no front desk, just the pub. "

"This was a very cute and fun place to stay at the end of our trip to England. The staff is so friendly and our room was comfortable. The spaces in the hallways were quite tight, but we enjoyed the rustic feel of the place and our English breakfasts. Very convenient to sightseeing, as it is right down the block from incredible York Minster. "

"Stayed for saturday night as visiting the turkish baths just a street or so away. Room was large & provided all facilities that i imagine anyone would need. Very handy for the shops & surounding restaurants also would be a very handy place to stay if visiting the royal hall or the harrogate convention centre all staff that we came into contact with were spot on & breakfast on the sunday morning was excellent . Will definitely be back in the future."

"Excellent hotel and restaurant. A few miles outside Harrogate so is very quiet. Had west-facing room with small balcony which is great on a sunny day. Staff were very friendly and the food excellent. Good range of options at reasonable prices. Would happily stay there again"

"The setting is unique; rooms within an inn, within inches of dining customers. The pub closes early enough that their revelry didn’t keep us awake. We just couldn’t freely use the window for light and air because it’s anything but private. But we will remember having slept near Guy Fawkes’ birthplace. "
