Abbot Trailside Lodging

Abbot Trailside Lodging

10/10 Excellent
"The facilities and location were great. My only comment is when I made reservations, I made the assumption that "trail side" lodging meant next (or very near) to the Appalachian Trail which we had come to the area to hike. The facility is actually next to a fairly busy ATV trail which I should have known by researching the facility better. The facility is convenient to the town of Monson and not too far from the AT, so all was well. Just a heads-up for future guests."

Moosehead Hideaway (Custom-Built, Waterfront, On Moosehead Lake)

Moosehead Hideaway (Custom-Built, Waterfront, On Moosehead Lake)

10/10 Excellent
"The property is beautiful, we enjoyed the breeze (sometimes wind) off the lake, into the house. Plenty of beds and space for everyone to spend time together, or get some space and solitude if needed. One thing I didn’t notice upon booking is the fire pit area! Such a nice area to sit and relax by the fire with a beautiful view of the lake, some cushions would be a nice addition. We enjoyed using the kayaks and bikes, there are floats but some had holes or were small, so if you want to float in the lake (you will!), bring some floats, we forgot. And don’t forget your water shoes, there are slippery rocks in the water. Downtown is a super short car or bike ride, and has everything you need, groceries, shops, food, rentals, etc., but to us, it was not walkable. If this place is available, go ahead and book, you won’t regret it!"
