"We stayed at Derwent as a base for exploring Northumbria. The hotel is set within a large and beautiful green space. Very clean and modern interior. The restaurant (bar) served great comfort food at very reasonable prices. Recommend including the breakfast in the reservation - high quality english breakfast buffet to start each day. We will be returning for our next trip “up north”, hopefully in August. 5/5 stars! Loved it!"

"We had a short trip phoned in advance to say we would be late, the member of staff was super friendly reassured us not to worry it was no problem and drive safely. We found the staff to be very polite, responsive, helpful and friendly. Great location adjacent to the beach. The room was well equipped, clean and well furnished meetings our needs. "The Highfield Hotel was clean and located to enable to get to the Stadium by bus easily. The breakfast order as confusing. We had paid for bed and breakfast but were only allowed 5 cooked items and were chared 50p for each additional item. The charge would be better in the cost of the hotel."

"Upon booking I ticked the option to pay at the hotel. Upon arrival I was surprised to be advised the room and that of 4 other guests had all been paid for 2 days before our arrival from my account. Totalling over £1000. Which had resulted in me having to request reimbursement from the other guests. The whole point of paying at venue was to avoid this 😟. "
