The Owen Theatre is a small town theatre located “Downtown on the Square” near US 60 in Seymour, MO. The 200 seat theatre was owned by Harold Owen and was built by his father in 1941. This theatre was family operated and the Owen family also owned and operated the Owen Drive-In in Seymour. During the school year this theatre was only open on weekends.

The Owen Theatre & the Owen Drive-In were both closed in 2013 upon the death of Harold Owen.

The Seymour Area Arts Council purchased the theater in 2015 and is in the process of renovating it, with the intent of using it as a community/ performance center.

"Very nice little pool. Our kids loved it. Staff got us a pair of rooms overlooking the pool, which was great. Breakfast choice wasn't the most extensive, but it was good and there were plenty of hot sausages and scrambled eggs."
