"This hostel has a variety of room options (some have terraces) and both the rooms and the common spaces are newly-renovated, well-designed and comfortable! There is also a roofdeck with a spectacular view of Ponta Delgada. The property is a renovated multi-storey 1930's townhouse with a central mahogany staircase (and elevator) that has been in the same family since 1961.The grandson manages the place and is very knowleadgeable about tours and very responsive to requests. "I have only excellent things to say about this calm hostel/hotel. It is a mix of rooms, apartment, and hostel. I stayed in a 4 bed bunk room. It was immaculately clean, with high quality beds, and bedding, and so spacious. Bathroom was likewise large and pristinely cleaned every day. Common area and kitchen were calm and I never had a problem being able to cook etc. Location was ideal, on a pedestrian street. If you have a car, this is not a plus. For me, it was fine. "The staff were as nice as the beauty of the hotel. The indoor and outdoor pools were beautiful and walking easily to the beach and shops were lovely. A few things that the hotel can do to make the stay even better: 1) turn the outdoor pool lights on at night, pool is open until 12am but it’s dark, so not safe. 2) change a few items each day at breakfast. Not appealing after day 3. 3) make the emergency pulls longer in the tub. Can’t reach a 5 ft high pull it if you falll!!!"
