I took this on Madeira Island, Portugal last May :). It was a dream come true to visit this enigmatic island. I was suppose to visit it back in March but had to unfortunately cancel. But, I had plans to travel in May so I decided to include Madeira! It was really well worth it. I took a few tours but on this particular day I walked solo. A few hour walk in the Serra de Água Valley. Breathtaking scenery was all-around. Mountains, valleys and amazing colors! And this was one of my favorite views! There was actually not many views of this mountain from the path I was walking. I could have very easily missed it! I am glad I didn't, though. And I came at the right time, too - sunset time :).

Madeira Island was the 2nd part of my trip. Finland being first, due to a music festival I was attending. And then a day in Helsinki. And I ended my trip in Switzerland. Was quite a contrast between Madeira & Switzerland ;). And both so beautiful in their own way. A journey I'll never forget!

"We had a brilliant week staying in this beautiful house. House was lovely and well eqipped, lovely views. We had a good small hire car, which you will need to access this house. The road to the property is very steep and narrow. This may could be a challenge for the faint hearted, however house owner will send you a detailed video near the time of your stay. Excellent communication with Carlis the owner, and we would stay there again."

"We spend here for two weeks and it was so wonderful. The place was exactly like in pictures and the view was almost more beautiful. It was nice and quiet and everyone was so helpful. We didn't have car, so needed good shoes for hiking, but the bus goes also quite near and quite often."

"We stayed at the Casa da Bordadeira over Christmas and had a fabulous time. The property was a cosy little place to spend time together, and a great base for hitting the Levada walks. Communication before arrival from the host was excellent and clear, and included everything we needed to know before arriving, during our stay and upon departure. "This is not the Ritz Carlton, but it doesn’t have to be. Super staff, beautiful location on the edge of delightful little bay. Views to die for, pool, better than average breakfast. The furnishings are older, but not worn, and the place is very clean. Great value for money."
