The town of Grandcourt has only a bar - no bakery or restaurant, and the closest grocery is about 5 KM away, so we had to drive for everything. I had hoped it would be a good base for WWI touring (and had even specifically inquired about that) but all the real WWI sites were at least a 1-2 hour drive away. "Even though we had to cut our holidays short due to family circumstances, we had a great time. Proper and functioning sanitation, a great location to visit Etretat, Ouistreham, Normandy beaches or Rouen, drive along the Seine or just relax at the property's park. Don't expect high-tech: you're in an old chateau. Expect a whiff of romance and a commodating host."
