Unit 17... Lot 16. Award-winning architect Ralph Matheson designed this, quintessential Sea Ranch home, bringing you the best of both worlds – a secluded setting with beautiful ocean views. Tucked back from the bluff, a wildlife-filled meadow is all that separates you from the spectacular Pacific Ocean. Watch the waves crash in the distance from the sunny window seat where expansive picture windows highlight an ever-changing view. Enjoy sunset cocktails from the lower ocean view deck or sunbathe on the sheltered south-facing deck with private hot tub.

The Pebble Beach Hideaway is a reversed floor plan that captures the essence of The Sea Ranch with its warm redwood and vertical grain fir interior while also offering a clean-lined, contemporary feel. Upstairs embrace the view, sneak a nap from the window seat which snuggles the wrap-around wood fireplace. Play your favorite music collection on the stereo with CD/IPOD dock or enjoy Satellite TV with access to Netflix, and Amazon Prime, free WIFI, and assortment of games, puzzles, blankets and throws for your enjoyment. You can even play a game of horseshoes in your own horseshoe pit!

The kitchen is open to the living area and is fully stocked with the cook in mind: quality cookware and chef’s knives, a variety of wine/bar glasses and serving dishes, an assortment of spices, an outdoor grill, a professional burr coffee grinder and an array of coffee making equipment.

This intimate 1400 square foot home offers sleeping for four in two bedrooms on entry level, each with a hallway bathroom. Equipped with either a Cal King European Sleep Works mattress or a Queen Tempur-Pedic mattress, each room is equally outfitted with cozy comforters and an assortment of fluffy pillows. Linens and towels included.

While you may never want to leave the Pebble Beach Hideaway, you’re just steps from the private bluff trail and numerous beaches. Adventurous souls will no doubt discover “Secret Beach”, a mere 500 feet from the house, while others will prefer the 5-minute walk to desirable Pebble Beach. A bit further north lies one of the most intimate, protected beaches in Sea Ranch – Smugglers Cove. (The wind can be howling, and you’d never know it at this sweet little spot!)

The location of the house is excellent - cited far away from other houses, total silence, views of the water, and a three minute walk to the ocean walking path. The kitchen has everything one needs to cook any meal with ease. The only nit is the house, particularly the bathrooms, could use a refresh, but everything functions and the house was spotless.

The beds are very close to the ground making it difficult to get out of. (At least for the 70's and over crowd). The kitchen is poorly equipped and the knives were quite dull, easy to fix so why don't they?

A few minute walk to the Bluff Trail for hiking (which we did a ton of!), a 30-minute walk to the Sea Ranch Lodge for coffee, drinks and meals, plus yoga on Saturday mornings (we love it there!), secluded at the end of a cul de sac, and situated in a way that makes it private in relation to neighboring homes.The home set up worked well for us. We are a couple so only used one downstairs bedroom (one with the sliders to the deck), but enjoyed having two full bathrooms on that floor. There's also a half bath on the living floor. The living room, dining room, kitchen open floor plan makes for beautiful views! Loved watching deer and wild turkey in the meadow, amazing sunsets, waves crashing, and changing sea views. Kitchen was well equipped! Can't think of anything it was missing. Living room has cozy chairs that DO move easily. They are on casters so you just gently swivel them to watch TV or look at ocean. Fireplace worked great and we were glad to have it when we lost power for 12 hours during a storm! We stayed nice and warm. The room heaters work great as do the electric heaters on the bed!! Such a cool feature. The window seat is the best spot in the house! We spent hours there reading and enjoying the views. We also loved the den/office as it had nice tree views. The huge window on the staircase landing makes you feel like you are outside. Hot tub worked great! House was clean and tidy, and there were many extras included, which we really appreciated. Cons:The house was a little dated. You can see some wear and tear, like the runner under the dining room table is fraying on the edges and should be replaced because we almost tripped on it a few times. Bathrooms could use an upgrade. We rented linens and towels from the rental company. Owner should put a table in foyer by back doo

The upstairs living area was cozy with comfy ottomans and a wide window seat. Lots of light. Dining area had high top table and chairs which took advantage of the view. The bedrooms are downstairs and were cooler in temperature than the living area which were more conducive to sleeping. Beds comfortable. Nice hot tub set up, easy to climb into since the hot tub was sunken slightly below the deck. There was a study room on the main floor with a day bed and recliner chair. Access to nearby trails through the backyard. Went walking along the coast daily. Gorgeous. Overall, location was close to Sea Ranch Lodge, Stewarts Point, Moonraker and Ohlson rec centers. My only grumble was the kitchen. There was a fancy induction cooktop with no hood. The tea kettle was rusted. Had to heat up water for tea in the microwave. Many of the cooking utensils were old and unusable. The kitchen could have used a toaster oven so one didn't have to use the oven to warm pastries from Two Fish Bakery for example. The oven did not heat up as fast as the cooktop. There also didn't seem to be enough variety of dishware. There were 3 ramen bowls. Not enough serving dishes or any smaller plates, juice glasses, etc. When we first arrived, the dishes and glasses were not clean. I had to rewash them. We made it work but it was kind of annoying dealing with this kitchen. Also, you will need to bring or buy things like napkins, saran wrap, aluminum foil, storage containers, facial tissue, laundry detergent and other household items, sundries. There was only dish soap, dishwasher tablets, a sponge, paper towels, garbage can liners, toilet paper and shower gel provided. I paid for linen service but if you want to use more pillows, you will need to bring your own pillowcases. In summary, we had a lovely stay and would rent here again if the kitchen was better appointed.

Just as good the second time

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed at the Hideaway last year with another couple. It was so nice we did it again this spring. The house is spotless, in an excellent location for walking along the cliffs, is very private, and the kitchen is well stocked. It is a perfect house for four people to relax and look at the ocean, or go hiking. At all times of the day and night, there is no noise as the house sits by itself.

Wonderful Week Hidden Away

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property felt secluded yet so close to the coast. Great access to trails. House is very good though somewhat dated. From the description you might think that it has a wood stove but is is actually a full wood burning fireplace.

The location is convenient if you like to enjoy a latte after a walk to the Lodge. We loved watching the sunsets from the window seat!

Peaceful and Relaxing - a Wonderful Get-away!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Wonderful big windows with great views of the ocean, field and trees. The interior decor added to the peaceful feel. All the amenities we needed and everything in great shape and very clean. Outdoor hot tub was very nice. Enjoyed watching deer, turkeys and other birds right outside. Plenty of space and fast internet for a couple unavoidable work meetings. Close to the trails, but felt very private. Enjoyed walks to the beaches and along the cliffs. Drove to Gualala and had two great meals at Cove Azul Bar & Grill. We'd definitely enjoy coming back some time!

Pebble Beach Hideaway

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, a good spot. Easy access to pebble beach and trails. Comfy seating. Challenging tv situation, but we weren’t there for that. Downside was dirty silverware and utensils. Very disappointing, but handled well by management when we told them. Garbage pail was already full when we tried to clean up when we left.
