About this property

Sea Ranch 2BR getaway with ocean views, wood stove & private deck

  • Summary:

Natural wood walls, lofty ceilings, and expansive windows set the scene at this classic Sea Ranch retreat with ocean views, near the Sea Ranch Chapel and the tidepools of Salt Point State Park. Light the wood stove, dine on the furnished patio, and settle a foosball rivalry after dinner. Sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms.

    The Space:

Ideally situated for outdoor enthusiasts, this classic Sea Ranch retreat sits near several spectacular beaches where you can lounge on the sand and enjoy the coastal scenery. You’ll also find the architecturally striking Sea Ranch Chapel, Sea Ranch Golf Links, and the tide pools and scenic trails of Salt Point State Park all within 10 miles of your door. Lounge in the living area with its natural wood walls and lofty ceilings where you can get a fire going in the wood stove and take in the view through the many expansive windows. The well-equipped, full kitchen offers a complete suite of stainless steel appliances, while resulting meals can be enjoyed together at the nearby dining table or alfresco on your furnished patio.

If you're craving a little friendly competition, this home includes a foosball table and a mini Ping-Pong game, while a variety of board games stand ready for family game nights. Not to mention, over at the Sea Ranch: Ohlson Recreation Center (located just a little over a mile away), you and your guests will enjoy access to a heated pool, tennis courts, and a sauna (at Sea Ranch rec centers).

    OUTDOOR LIVING

Step outside to the deck -- your front-row seat for Pacific sunsets and, in season, migrating gray whales.

    SEA RANCH AND THE COAST

Welcome to The Sea Ranch -- ten miles of rugged Sonoma coastline where modern architecture and wild nature exist in harmony. Gualala groceries, dining, and fuel sit about 10 minutes from Touch the Tides. From Touch the Tides, Jenner and Bodega Bay are scenic Highway 1 drives south of Sea Ranch.

Touch the Tides puts Shell Beach, Bluff Trail, Del Mar within easy reach for daily outings.

Touch the Tides guests use Sea Ranch recreation centers — heated pools, saunas, and tennis. Recreation access passes ship with your Touch the Tides stay — confirm pool hours on arrival; these shared amenities can be popular during peak times.

    The Neighborhood:

Welcome to The Sea Ranch -- ten miles of rugged Sonoma coastline where modern architecture and wild nature exist in harmony. Gualala is a quick 10-minute drive north for groceries, dining, and fuel. For a scenic outing, Jenner and Bodega Bay are further down Highway 1.

    Getting Around:

Sea Ranch is located on the Sonoma Coast, approximately 2.5 hours north of San Francisco via Highway 101 to Highway 1. The closest airport is Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS) in Santa Rosa, about 1.5 hours east. A car is essential for exploring the area. The scenic drive along Highway 1 is part of the experience.

    Other Things to Note:

Sea Ranch has three recreation centers with heated pools, saunas, and tennis courts. Access passes are provided with your stay -- check availability upon arrival as these shared amenities can be popular during peak times.

Exterior lighting is minimal by design to preserve the stunning dark sky -- bring a flashlight for evening walks and enjoy some of the best stargazing on the California coast.

December through April is whale season. You may spot gray whales breaching right from the bluff trail nearby. Wildflower season (April-June) transforms the coastal bluffs into a tapestry of color -- worth an extra walk on the trails. Summer offers long days and warm afternoons, though the iconic Sonoma Coast fog often rolls in at sunrise and clears by noon.

Cell service can be spotty along the coast. The home has WiFi for staying connected.
