"There are families living at this hotel. Sad.. There were lots of kids screaming at the indoor pool all day. The hotel has shabby rooms with inexpensive maintenance and repairs. Not too many people staying when I was there. 24/7 security guards at 3 side entrances (why?)"

"Very unique being a castle. Has to be seen to be believed! It was comfortable. However, Amsterdam has little to offer. Pretty run down, no stores anywhere. Breakfast is not included as the dining room is closed down. Closest place to get breakfast is about a 3 mile drive away. In such a strange place, there is actually a great Italian restaurant almost across the road. The only restaurant around. Glad we saw the castle and experienced it but we will not be back to Amsterdam."

"We picked this location for its proximity to Cooperstown. The room was good & very clean. The only issue we had was it took almost 20 minutes to get any hot water in the sink or shower. We were up & on the road early, so that may have factored into this issue. We would give this location another try."
