"Following three failed attempts to check in on arrival due to an unmanned desk, the rest of the stay was excellent, mostly down to the wonderful Sunny whom ensured our stay was comfortable and with plenty of supplies due to the weather conditions. The only downside was a faulty light in our room which constantly flashed on and off during the night which disturbed our sleep a little. We reported it twice, hoping for repair or a change of room but it was a weekend so no maintenance was available...

The breakfast was first class and we received a lovely recommendation for a light evening meal nearby. It is very walkable into the centre of York, but at one point we chose to take the bus and that too is both convenient and easy. We would not hesitate to recommend Ascot House and will make it our first choice on any subsequent visit to York. "

"Location on the edge of York city center was an easy walk to all attractions. Convenient for both car (large city parking lot nearby) and rail (station just across the river). We had a large room with a very spacious bathroom, all done to satisfaction."

"Yes it was ok for a nights sleep. Not the ritz but much cheaper than others. I struggled a little getting door lock codes but I would stay again as it worked ok for us."
