"Great stay. Michael our host was super helpful guiding us there. Park outside Sissi and take the small red bus into town, 1.50 each get off at the last stop it’s 100 yards from there. Nice room with a view. Lots of stairs, that’s matera for you. The room was spacious but the bed was quite firm so keep that in mind. "

"Matera is an amazing town and Corte San Pietro is equally an amazing place to stay. Staying the cave rooms is a unique experience, unlike anything we have stayed in before. Once you understand the history of the Sassi you will appreciate all the conveniences that have been built into the cave rooms. Service is super friendly and accommodates any request from booking tours to booking restaurants. "

"Matera is not the easiest place to get to in first place. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to change plans and arrived by coach bus instead of rental car. The hotel contacted us a couple days before our check in and once they learned about our change if plans, they helpfully pointed out to us that our bus station is actually quite a bit of distance from the hotel. They then booked a taxi for us that waited at the bus station and took us straight into the restricted area inside the old town that saved us a lot of walking while carrying our luggages. Upon arrival, they clearly explained to us all the must sees, how to get to them and recommended food places. The room itself is just a spectacular experience. We booked the cave room for the experience and it was huge. Certainly gave us the unique experience that we were hoping for."
