Our stay at Jozankei was so peaceful and relaxing! We loved our room with the private tub, the staff was professional and on point, and the food was delicious! The facility is spotless and we loved all the details and extras they add to make the stay feel special.
The room is very nice, highly recommend if you are traveling more than 2 people. The separate room guaranteed a good sleep. The in-room bath tub with Onsen water is amazing. I will pick this hotel again for more nights’ stay. The only thing that’s not the hotel’s fault is it’s crowed. A lot of travellers during the Christmas season, it’s understandable. It will be the best if hotel can design some kind of routing method to avoid guests to get crowed.
The food was amazing from the dinner to breakfast. Rooms were large & our bath had its own onsen tub. Make sure you inquire & make a reservation for the shuttle from Sapporo station to the Ryokan because it is a very far distance into the countryside.
Great location with valley view. Clean and furnished room. 4 different themes of private onsens available including public bath. Skincare amenities available. Kaiseiki dinner and Japanese breakfast were delicious! Will stay here again.
Food was delicious, asthetics were amazing. I loved having the coffee grinder in the room to be able to make a fresh cup in the morning. Also loved the little "events" throughout the day like a matcha tea tasting at noon, bar at night, tea bar during the day, and late night ramen
Heaven in a hotel. Onsen was lovely the service was amazing. Dinner was good but breakfast (and the view) was even better. Would 10/10 recommend. Would go back in a heartbeat.
Amazing ryokan style hotel, highly recommended. The omakase dinner and breakfast were both delicious. Surpassed our expectations with the hotel and the surrounding area. Beautiful place with lots of outdoor activities depending on the season. We visited during November and it was the most beautiful place we seen in Hokkaido, including the drive into and out of it. This place would be our top priority when we visit Hokkaido again.
Amazing view, great service and delicious food!
Staff was so pleasant and efficient. However, I just wish people were little more quiet to enjoy the view and during meal. Perhaps a sign around the facility to remind people of etiquette would be helpful and maybe even print on the instruction.
A truly amazing experience. One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in.
A ryokan experience with a modern twist.
We took the complimentary shuttle bus from Sapporo Station to the hotel.
Everything about the hotel is lovely.
The room is just stunning, with its own onsen.
The public onsen is very nice too.
The meals are Japanese cuisine at its best. Breakfast and dinner. And the setting of the restaurant overlooking the Jozankei valley! Over breakfast one morning we looked at heavy snow falling. It was magical.
Jozankei town is a winter wonderland with so much snow and very high snow banks. Worth a wonder around.
We also enjoyed the different teas at the tea lounge and ice cream and hot drinks at the Zen Lounge after our hot spring bath.
We highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants lots of snow in winter, on the ground and from the sky.
Très belle chambre
Très beaux bains
Repas bon
L’équipe est vraiment au petit soin
Mais on reste sur une grande chaîne d’hôtel et Dormy n’est pas une chaîne tatoo friendly !!!
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here for 2 nights. The benefit of being able to wear just socks and walk throughout the hotel is amazing. Being able to use a private onsen on the first floor and in your room is very nice.
While food is good, I wouldn't call it great. It's multi-course but always has a hotpot round and you can order extra dishes if you are hungry. If you stay for 2 nights, you can choose your next night's main dish but it's also hotpot style main. Wouldn't recommend staying for food but everything else is fantastic and worthy of 2 nights stay.
