This hotel was dirty. Under staffed. Disorganised. Broken drawers. Mouldy bathrooms. No food or bar facilities. Leaking roofs. Dark. Dingy. A disgrace.
We felt cold in the hotel and a musty smell all round problem with door card had to keep going to reception to have it re charged and very disappointed with breakfast whan arriving at hotelthe roon had some one elses mask left in wont be back x
Despite paying for bed & full breakfast as advertised on both the Expedia & the hotel's own site what we were given was a so called "grab & go" which contained cereal but with warm milk so not possible to eat, out of date biscuits, a tea bag/coffee sachet, warm juice so again not possible to drink, a croissant with jam the only edible thing. This was advertised as £7 per head but if we'd paid room only we'd have been satisfied as it is we feel ripped off by paying an unnecessary £28 over 2 days. Additionally, the hotel ground are a mess & the hotel itself needs seriously upgrading, It's got the potential but as it stands it's a disgrace.
Easy to check in, quite although this could have been due to the COVID-19 Problems.

Nice, but not comfy sleep
The sleep isn’t the greatest with those narrow beds. The double duvet is very small too, only just capable of touching the sides, if you snuggle up very closely. Pillows are far too small, even with two for each
I move on two crutches. There was no offer to assist me with baggage.
Lack of communication between staff: when I asked to use the cold breakfast buffet at 7.30 am, initially I was told I could not access breakfast until 8.00; when I pursued the idea and said that the day staff had suggested (the previous evening) that I could get some food earlier than 8, the person on Reception was very helpful in getting food for me as requested. I could not find the heating control in my room: when a person came to fix it, at first he couldn't either. At no time during the night was any warm air produced. Finally you need a sign to the hotel which can be read as you approach from Congleton !
As we were out of season, Drinks were expensive, access to food during the day was limited due to no full time chef. But plenty of restaurants and bars close by at Sandbach. Comfortable rooms, but annoying fob room key card that had to be swiped at the desk after each day use as it didn’t open the day. Hotel is set in good location and it was a pleasant stay with staff very helpful all the time. Certainly worth a re visit.
Check in was efficient, our room was old and in need of a bit of money spending on it - but clean. All staff were friendly and the communal areas were beautifully decorated and clean.
Reasonable stay. This was an economy room and was good value for that. Plenty of te and coffee in the room. Didn't have any meals.
I thought that being very close to the M6 it would be noisy but it wasn't

Basic and functional. Welcoming staff on arrival. Good breakfast
Last minute booking due to delays on M6. Was worried about some of the negative reviews, but couldn’t agree with them! Service was friendly and outstanding. Food was really good. Agree the choice for dinner is limited but the quality was excellent and certainly no complaints. Breakfast was good too. Room was lovely, everything needed including a new air con u it to ensure the room wasn’t too hot at night. Great location just off the M6 too. Would definitely stay again!
