It is an oasis of calm, surrounded by wonderful scenery (mountains and sea) and offers a great base for exploring the national parks of Majella and Gran Sasso or the coast and beaches north and south of Pescara. The villa is really well appointed with air conditioning, well equipped kitchen and there is a barbecue area, bicycles, a table tennis table and a wonderful swimming pool. "We stayed in the flat for several nights in January. It’s located in a large pedestrian area, which is fantastic, but which also requires you to carry your luggage a couple of blocks to get to it. Long-term parking can be found at the train station just a few blocks away and it’s very inexpensive. The flat itself was clean with plenty of storage space for clothing. "Eric and Rita’s house is perfectly situated in the historic center. Every floor has a wonderful view of the beautiful landscape with the mountains in the distance. Communication with our hosts was excellent. Loreto Aprutino is a lovely little, somewhat sleepy, medieval town. It gives visitors a perspective into small town life in Italy. "The location of the property to restaurants was great. However, the property is tucked away on a side street. If arriving after 7 pm, guests should be told not to drive past the Pizzeria on the right since house numbers are difficult to see in the dark."

The grounds and pool are well maintained and the view from the villa is stunning. "If you want a peaceful, rural getaway then Casa Foelas is the place for you. The coast is easily accessible as are the mountains and the airport. A car is a must but you don’t need to drive too far to find a beach, dramatic scenery, a Roman ruin or ancient castle. The facilities are excellent, the pool is a delight, surrounding area has a wealth of things to do - e-biking on the coast, walking in the mountains, picturesque mountain villages, hill-top towns like Penne and Chieti, wonderful food (the ice cream!).
