This is a lovely, beautifully decorated property. Excellent location—coffee shop and restaurants just across the street, and short 10-15 minute walk to downtown. Great host and amenities!
The house is well decorated and the amenities are well thought out. I appreciated the attention to detail and the tech throughout the house (smart tv, Sonos speakers, Tesla charger) will absolutely stay again!
Beautifully renovated home! Comfortable with all the amenities. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook meals. The host was easy to communicate with prior to arrival and very responsive during our stay. Will definitely be staying again when we return to San Luis Obispo.
This historic house was well maintained and nicely updated. It was in a great location and close enough to walk downtown to the shops and restaurants. We enjoyed sitting around the fire pit in the evening with a glass of wine. We will definitely stay there again!
Would give a 100 rating if I could! Everything we could possibly need was in the home, and the space is even nicer than the pictures online. The location was absolutely perfect for walking into town to all the best restaurants. Would definitely recommend! We’ll definitely be back. Thank you!
Spent a few days here while visiting SLO. Beautiful home in a great location. Very comfortable home with off street parking. We appreciated the coffee and snacks that were provided. Great dining options just a few blocks walk.
My family and I were in town for the weekend and it was perfect fit! It’s a very charming and historic home within walking distance to downtown with a very cute breakfast spot just a black away.
We were out and about enjoying the town most of the day but coming back to this house was super cozy! We would visit again.
Came to visit my daughter at Cal Poly, with my niece and sister. The house was perfect as walking distance to town and we ate breakfast in sally loos across the street . Well equipped and beautifully decorated ( photos don’t do it justice ) we will be again.
Wonderful clean charming home near historic downtown
Loved the house from the beginning - it is as lovely as portrayed in the pictures and more. We were greeted with snacks and a bottle of wine. The decor is what you wish you had in your own home and there is all you need to stay comfortably. Felt like we were visiting our friends’ home. Loved that we could walk everywhere. Communication with Michael was easy and enjoyable - he is professional and prompt and helpful. Everything was clean and comfortable, and even the bathroom lotion smells good! Cannot recommend this little gem enough!
We absolutely loved the railroad house and the entire area. Our host was thoughtful and provided everything we could have imagined! Lovely furnishings and amenities. We look forward to returning soon!
What a great house to spend a family vacation in! The property was immaculately kept, had everything you would need, and made us feel right at home. Located just minutes from everything in SLO and only a short drive to Pismo or Morro. The only regret we had was that we couldn’t stay longer.
We stayed with our two young children (infant and toddler), and this property was absolutely phenomenal! Very family friendly, spacious, cozy, and well thought out design. Great location in SLO as well! Michael was a superb communicator and always responded promptly. This will be our go-to rental for future trips to SLO moving forward!
This charming house was perfect for our girls trip. The house is clean, comfortable, and just a short walk to downtown. I only wish we had more time for a longer stay. I will definitely stay here again. Michael is also a great host and very responsive to messages. There were also sweet touches with snacks, water, and eggs already in the fridge. We were blown away. You will enjoy your stay here!!
This is an absolutely gorgeous home: warm, welcoming, generously equipped (even with a delicious local wine!).
We had a lovely time, and my daughter liked playing with the thoughtfully stocked toys. Thank you so much!
Very well appointed, stylish and relaxing home. Clearly a lot of thought has gone into the renovation and ensuring a great guest experience. Very well equipped including kitchen implements, tea, coffee and other basics. Good location and everything walkable. Highly recommend by Family Brookes 😃
We spent a lovely weekend in SLO visiting our son. The house was adorable, spotless and very comfortable. The beds were comfy, the house has been updated with very nice finishes. Backyard is cute and very private. House is also walking distance to downtown. We will definitely be back! Thank you again!

The home was beautifully appointed and comfortable. The owners added some special touches and embrace tech. It was an easy walk into the heart of San Luis where there are great restaurants and shopping. Definitely check out Thursday's Farmer's Market on Higuera.
It was only two of us, but the house had a great children's room for a family.
The front bedroom does get some street noise, but the bed is so wonderfully comfy you sleep well regardless.
We hope to stay again in the future.
Wonderful home in the railroad district of SLO
Nicely remodeled, inviting house with big kitchen with everything you need for cooking, great backyard for relaxing, walkable location to downtown and cafe across the park served delicious breakfast and lunch.
Road noise a minimum due to noise machines in each bedroom. Beds were comfortable, plenty of blankets, pillows.
Great communication with host. We really enjoyed SLO and look forward to staying in this house in the future.
Beautiful property, very clean and tastefully renovated. We arrived a bit early because my kid had stomach problems. Michael was so nice to let us get into the property before check in time. He was a wonderful and attentive host. Everything was stocked nicely so we got everything we needed for the trip. The kids really enjoyed the trundle bed and the purple mattress was amazing! Thank you Michael.
This place is wonderful, not only is it beautifully decorated but there is even a Nespresso machine, Sonos speakers, Apple TV, .. Also, the host Michael was super accommodating. Even though he had guests scheduled to arrive on the same day of our departure, he arranged for a late checkout and also gave us tips for where to go in the town/what to do.
This 2br, 1ba property is gorgeously remodeled to a modern standard, and comes with everything you need for cooking and relaxing. Strong AC. For EV drivers, the 80 amp NACS (Tesla) charger is a pleasant surprise, and I was able to easily use if with an NACS to J1772 TeslaTap converter.
Had a great stay at the Railroad House last weekend! This is a well appointed, stylish two-bedroom house that's been modernized yet has kept its historic charm. The house has nice sized spaces - living room, dining room, full kitchen (multiple coffee options :-) and decent size bedrooms - plenty of space for the four of us. The neighborhood has some great restaurants close by and it's a 10-15 minute walk downtown. Easy parking in the driveway. Michael was very responsive and answered all of our questions along the way. Great home base for our time in SLO.
Husband and I had a great time staying at the railroad house in SLO. The home is beautiful, super clean, comfortable, and very well appointed. Pictures are definitely accurate. Michael was a great host, very responsive, and we appreciated all the little treats and extras. Neighborhood is walking distance (about 5-6 blocks) to the main downtown area so we didn’t have to deal with parking when we wanted to go for shopping or dinner. A few restaurants across the street too - tried the Thai one and it was very good. Area is across from Amtrack station but felt very safe to walk around. Was quiet at night (and yes, the bed was super comfy) but street outside the bedroom window does get a little noisier and busy in the morning with cars. I can highly recommend staying here, and am super happy to have a place to stay again when we are back in the area.
What a great stay we had in SLO. The Rail Road House location was perfect for us. We have family who lives close by. On top of that, the house was clean, spacious, comfortable and had all the amenities you could possibly need. Downtown restaurants and shops are within walking distance or a short drive away. There are corner grocery/deli's near by if you need anything during your stay. The property is located on a well traveled street and not too far from the train station, it was not a bother to us at all...we did not hear a train too early or too late.
The host communication was great and very helpful with our stay. I would recommend the Rail Road House to friends and family and will definitely be back again! 5-Star all around!!
